Family film night...

After a conversation with Lil about how schools have changed, how they are more relaxed and engaging compared to forty years ago,
we decided that Kes would be a good film to watch the next Family film night.
Well, it was an eye opener for Lil! and Skyla got upset because she couldn't understand the language they were speaking...... which was Broad Yorkshire, in which I'm fluent.
I really loved watching it but realised how for Sky and Sonny there were no visual effects, glee type singing, space ships and it wasn't in 3D....
but it's a cracking film tha know's.
These scenes are my fave's

A little insight into Yorkshire the year before I was born!

  1. It is a cracking film - we read the book at our school. Did you know that the children in it weren't actors - and that it was for real when they all got smacked with the ruler in the headmasters office? Hence real tears! Gritty stuff!

  2. Know the feeling, I tried to get my daughter to watch some of my favourite old films like Taste of Honey and Harold and Maud, she was not impressed!
