Holmfirth houses

This picture of Holmfirth was the inspiration for my monoprinting this week.

I just love the silhouette of the long chimney against the fields.

The photo looks like it could have been taken fifty years ago not a couple of days ago, it has a real nostalgic feel to it.

I loved this house shape and used it as a starting point for my prints...

I just drawn to using bright colours, 

but I think I'm going to drag myself away and experiment with some earthy tones....

....and maybe mix them with a just few brights!
