Umbrella Prints...
No matter how busy life is I love carving out a pocket of time to spend doing a fabric collage for the Umbrella prints competition, I just love it!
I've entered a couple of times and even been lucky enough to win once!
(....just had to get that in, v proud )
I don't get much time to work with fabric these days, so it's the perfect excuse and Umbrella prints trimmings are sooooo gorgeous to work with...
I've just had the time to do the one design this year, so I chose one of my favourite screen prints to work from of me and Lily when she was born.
I love experimenting with the colours in the trimmings pack and choosing which fabrics to put together.
And here's the finished piece!
I used a pair of Skyla's old denim pedal pushers for the blue background, and a plain tea towel to sew the finished design onto.
All finished, happy days!
This piece is now going to the framers to be framed up with this piece for the Holmfirth ArtWeek supporting macmillan on July 20-26th.
Sending lots of good luck to anyone else entering the competition!
I love this!! Your work is always so inspiring!
